River's Edge Hosted The Inaugural
Great Russian River Race
 

On May 7th, 2011 River's Edge finally realized a goal. The race attracted some of the world's top canoeing and kayaking athletes, local adventurers, social paddlers and corporate teams
to race in two separate events.  The proceeds benefitted the Russian RiverKeeper, as well as the Sonoma County Veterans Memorial Beach. Hundreds attended to cheer on the racers and enjoyed the River Race Party, which offered great food, beverages and live music. Thousands Turn Out for the Revival of Healdsburg Water Carnival
River's Edge provided beach space and logistics for the carnival which was hosted by Healdsburg Veterans Memorial Beach.   This was the first reincarnation of the historic festival in more than 75 years. A similar swan was the focal point of the original Healdsburg Water Carnival, which started in 1905. An exact headcount wasn't possible, but organizers were sure they had surpassed their hopes of 3,000 visitors. Yet another reason to visit Healdsburg in July.
